Initial premise:

The customer is a plastic bottle manufacturer:

• Using 100 000 corrugated boxes per year, using all of them only once
• Dispending 1,50$ per box to ship to his customer’s facility

Customer expectations:

• Reduce packaging costs in addition to reducing environmental footprint

Challenges:

The customer is looking for gaylord boxes that are easy to store.

We need to stock all the components of the box together to facilitate the fleet management.

Long term resistance of the gaylord boxes is the key to obtain a good ROI (Return on investment).

Solution:

• The sleeve is foldable inside the bottom tray of the gaylord and the top tray can be closed on top of it. This result in one item containing all components.
• The gaylord boxes are reused up to 15 times
